STATIC & MOISTURE CONTROL

The Arcadia Quality Management System ("QMS") incorporates various protocols for the precise method of handling electronic components, most notably:

ESD Discharge Avoidance

Arcadia Components, as a wholesaler of electronic components, has frequent occasion to handle devices that are sensitive to electrostatic charges.  As such, Arcadia has as a fundamental quality objective the assurance of  the integrity of its products -- by avoiding damage resulting from ESD discharge.  Arcadia has invested considerable resources into developing, implementing and continuously improving methodologies for handling and storing ESD devices in such a way as to minimize or eliminate the risk of such damage prior

to use by customers.

ANSI/ESD-S20.20

The industry standard for achieving such an objective is ANSI/ESD-S20.20, authored as a joint effort by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the Electrostatic Discharge Association (ESD).  It has been universally recognized and adopted by industry suppliers and electronics manufacturers alike.

Arcadia's Quality Management System ("QMS") has been in compliance with ANSI/ESD S20.20 since 2007.  As of June 2011, Arcadia has been fully certified and registered to ESD S20.20, and is audited by its third-party accredited registrar annually.

Arcadia also has frequent occasion to handle electronic devices that are sensitive to exposure to moisture. Arcadia has developed procedures, trained employees, and invested in proper packaging, equipment, and facilities to ensure proper handling and storage of moisture sensitive devices in such a way as to minimize or eliminate the risk of such
damage prior to use by customers.

The universally accepted industry standard for achieving zero defects with respect to damage to moisture sensitive devices is a joint standard authored by the IPC--Association Connecting Electronics Industries and the JEDEC Solid State Technology Association.  It is entitled IPC/JEDEC J-STD-033: Handling Packing, Shipping, and Use of Moisture/Reflow Sensitive

Surface Mount Devices.

Arcadia's QMS is in compliance with IPC/JEDEC J-STD-033.  Arcadia equipment and procedures have also been formally incorporated into Arcadia's QMS, which in turn has been audited, certified, and registered as part of the ISO9001 / AS9120 / IDEA-QMS-9090 registration processes.
