New Releases Watches

Introducing: Nomos Tangente Midnight Blue Collection

Nomos Tangente Midnight Blue

The festive season is upon us and with it all the bright reds, greens and over the top glittering creations you can shake a seasonally-festooned stick at. It’s enough to make us long for something a little more minimal.

Well, like an early Christmas present Nomos Glashutte have released their own answer to the festive season and in typical Bauhaus style the watches are about as pared-back as you can get, albeit with a subtle touch of seasonal sparkle.

Nomos Tangente Midnight Blue

Tangente midnight blue is, as the name suggests, a new version of the flagship NOMOS Glashütte model in a hue as cool and dark as a winter night’s sky, almost dark enough to be black. In the larger, 38mm model that dial is paired with starry silver across the numerals, indexes and hands; on the smaller, 35mm model that’s instead a warm, fireside gold.

Both have stainless steel cases and are powered by NOMOS Glashütte’s own in-house Alpha manual-winding calibre, complete with a 43-hour power reserve. Like any movement from the quiet German watchmaking village, they’re finished with the area’s signature Glashütte stripes across their three-quarter plate.

Otherwise the pair of watches shares the same design as the original Tangente models released almost 25 years ago, just in a more elegant form. That includes the small seconds and those strong, straight-edged lugs.

The two Tangente midnight blue models might not be the most flamboyant watches released this season but if you’re looking for a slight escape from the pomp of festivity – not to mention a very well-priced in-house movement and iconic design – look no further. At the very least, it’s worth a place on your Christmas wishlist.
