Horological and artist collaborations are nothing new and for Hublot they’re something of a tradition. Usually though that just involves a cool, limited edition dial. This time is slightly different, and not only because the watchmaker has collaborated with the bestselling contemporary artist in France.
Hublot’s new chronograph is powered by a self-winding Caliber Hublot HUB1155 movement which boasts a power reserve of 42 hours.
Richard Orlinski has actually been allowed to sculpt his own take on the Classic Fusion and the result is even punchier than a standard Hublot. The 45mm titanium case is reminiscent of pieces by Graff, but the visible screws in the bezel along with the intensely skeletonised dial make it very much an Hublot.
Bestselling contemporary French artist, Richard Orlinski, sculpted the new Classic Fusion Aerofusion Chronograph Orlinski.
It’s a long way away from Orlinski’s usual colour-drenched pop-art, but it makes for one hell of a statement piece.
