Introducing the Greubel Forsey Nano Foudroyante EWT

Sometimes you just need to roll your eyes and wonder why. Why would Greubel Forsey create a micro-complication that you need to see through a magnifying glass? The answer, as it always is with Swiss auteurs Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey is because they can. And they have, with the Greubel Forsey Nano Foudroyante EWT.

The brand is no stranger to hiding key elements inside the watch, sculpture and etchings both hiding under their magnifying glasses previously. This time however, after plenty of research into nano-energy (yes, it’s a thing) they have hidden a foudroyante jumping second hand.

The complication is essentially a fast-moving hand jumping in fractions of a second to create an impressive, eye-catching bit of movement. It’s rare and rarified and here is 96% smaller than usual.

This however is apparently just a taster of what’s to come; Greubel Forsey have already hinted at what their nano-energy research could accomplish… and next time you won’t need a microscope to appreciate it.
